All Ireland medal for playing the accordion

The Noel Furlong band consists of a duo. Noel himself plays a keyboard, accordion and sings. The second half of the duo Adrian Furlong plays guitar and sings. The band have had a lot of success over the past number of years both at home and also on the international stage. They have been playing to sell out crowds in America, the UK and Germany. Noel himself has been involved in the music industry for over 40 years since he started playing music at the age of 10 and to his credit has an all Ireland medal for playing the accordion. Throughout the years his music has changed to reflect the changing times. In the earlier days as a teenager Noel played traditional irish music to sell out crowds across the UK as part of the famous May Glass Ceili band.



The Noel Furlong band throughout the 80's - 90's preformed on ships entertaining a wide variety of people who travelled too and from Ireland. In 1996 the Noel Furlong band shot to fame with the song "Aon Focal Eile". "Aon Focal Eile", at the time outsold Oasis, The Cranberries and Boyzone, staying at the top of the charts for 9 weeks. To say that Noel Furlong is doing well is an understatement, "Aon Focal Eile" is a song about learning Irish in school, but laced with double meaning. Since this Noel has recorded a number of very successful CD's which he penned 90% of the material. Noel would say that music is his passion and he is never happier than when he is performing one of his songs to a live crowd.


The most recent album "A bit on the side" has been played on all music stations across Ireland,the UK and in Spain. Noel has a number of hits to his credit, "Fishing Days", "Beautiful Ferrycarrig", "Viagra", "The Bucking Mule", "Pakistani Pat" to name but a few. Noel's songs reflect the changing Ireland, but keeping the traditional Irish music influence.
