Although he is a relative newcomer to the Country and Irish scene having spent most of the time playing Rock n Blues with various different bands throughout the country. The most recent of these was front man with Co Armagh band Purple Heart experienced great success in the North and many border counties in the South. Back in 2002 he decided it was time to turn professional and left the band to persue a solo career. This brought about a change of stage name and choice of genre and Dickie ventured into the world of Country music. At the same time he wrote and devised a show for the Theatres offering a one man tribute to the top singers of the Irish showband era.
