When he is way from the music his passion is that of cooking and he is as much at home catering for 6 as he does for 66.

Reading is one of his pass times. Fiction and horse racing is what he searches for. Just before 6am he heads off with their little Shitzu for an hour around the village where he lives lose to Tamworth.

His favourite entertainer is Daniel O'Donnell whom he has met and interviewed. Daniel is a regular supporter of Joe's community work and even provided him with 'the shirt off his back as an auction item during a show at Sydney. Joe's favourite moment of sentimentality was meeting with Pat Garret at the Limerick Studios and broadcasting live from there.

Joe plans to be back in Ireland in September 2011.
