JP's Country Megamix
Originally from Donegal, I have been living in Co. Leitrim since 2013. I have loved Country music all my life. The first band I remember going to see is Donegal's own singer/songwriter Shunie Crampey. Then I became a member of the Paddy O'Brien fanclub, when I used to help out with a country music club in Donegal. Then for about 10 to 15 years of the last 20 years, I followed the country bands to concerts that local radio station in Donegal held.
It was great to get the opportunity to travel to the Eurovision in 2003 to support Lifford's own Mickey Joe Harte with the local radio station. One his friends was doing a live broadcast back to Ireland from Riga. He just had linked up with the station and got called away for a few minutes and asked me to listen for the DJ back in the station to start chatting. I got a great buzz from that and that made me like radio even more.
One day, my dreams came through in December 2009 when I met Mr Pat Garrett through the world's famous Facebook. I got chatting to Pat a bit on it. In January 2010 I set up the fanclub page for Irish Country Music Radio. Then in June Pat asked me to do a show and here I am now, the head of promotions and a presenter for Ireland's number one premier Irish & Country music radio station, playing the best 24/7 in Irish & Country music, Irish Country Music Radio.
