Joe's love of Country & Irish music comes from his background in the Stacks Mountain of North Kerry. He has produced and promoted albums of the music of his own place. Joe worked in Limerick City where he served on the City Council for many years and also server a term as Mayor of his adopted city. Joe now lives back in his native Kerry.

Joe was involved with the old pirate radio stations in Limerick for many years presenting South and About, Kingdom Corner and The Rambling House. Many people living in England & Europe listened to his programmes on Astra satellite. Joe is one of the organisers of the annual tour of the Irish Rambling House Show of traditional musicians, storytellers & singers to entertain the exiles in England. Over twenty entertainers feature in these tours and Irish exiles eagerly look forward to the annual visit.

Joe also produces music DVDs featuring Irish Traditional and Country entertainers such as The Rambling Irish featuring songs of exile and scenery from Ireland, England and Australia. The photo above shows Joe at the grave of Jack Riley, (the Man from Snowy River) in Victoria, Australia where he filmed some scenes for the DVD.

Joe is editor of the Lyreacrompane and District Journal, maintains the community website www.lyreracrompane.com and is Chairperson of the four day Dan Paddy Andy Festival, Ireland's real rural festival, which is held annually in Lyreacrompane, North Kerry, over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

His programme on Irish Country Music Radio is called Joe's Country Kingdom and goes out on Tuesdays and Saturdays 9pm to 11pm (Irish time).
